The dark side is a pathway to many abilities that some consider unnatural.

28·14 days agoI’m currently running the latest version from F-droid, it’s doing what it should do. No red flags I can see.
I know the current owner as much as the previous one so no difference for me.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is something you lived as a novice and then later enjoyed teaching?
4·19 days agoThat’s one option.
In the UK there’s also a more vocational route, part time study, mixed with practice and focused on doing the job rather than learning about the job.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is something you lived as a novice and then later enjoyed teaching?
10·19 days agoI always had an interest in understanding humans, I find the way their minds work endlessly fascinating.
So I did a lot of study on the subject until one day I parked my old job and trained as a therapist.
After that I got invited to stay on at the college and teach. Been doing that for eight years now, alongside my practice, and I love it.
I spend my days answering questions from people who want to learn, who have chosen to be there and whose goal is to make a difference in the world.
It’s a privilege and a good way to earn a living.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do you use for your personal photos/videos backups? Cloud service? Local external drive? Etc
1·19 days agoExcellent, I do love the way syncthing makes that simple.
I use SMBSync2 to move any pictures more than a month old into a backup folder so they don’t clog my phone. Keeps things neat.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Do you remember every single scene and dialogue of a show or movie you just watched?
3·20 days agoYeah, for a while. If I want it to stay in my head long-term I’ll need to watch a couple more times.
A good memory is a blessing and a curse. It really changes how I enjoy rewatching a classic film.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's something that you feel genuinely sad about that you've been keeping in for a while?
2·28 days agoI love this idea. It makes so much sense.
I suspect and fear the inevitable “foster fail” when I inevitably fall in love again.

Its a tough time but not disabling, it’s confusing but mostly I feel the love and the sadness together.

I may even have more cats in the future, but it’ll never be the same. He meant so much to me, a once in a lifetime connection.
Even when it gets easier I wouldn’t want it to ever feel totally okay that he’s not here. 🥰

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's something that you feel genuinely sad about that you've been keeping in for a while?
732·28 days agoI guess the people close to me know that losing my cat in January was a way bigger deal for me than I’ve talked about.
Just writing this, thinking about how I miss him, I can feel the emotion building up. 🥴
