Because if you humiliate a delusional, crazy narcisst, he will not just give up. He will double-down. And this crazy narcisst has atomic weapons.
I stopped using reddit after spez’s AmA. If all of this would have been handled in a more mature and open way, I would probably have moved to the reddit app, complained about it for a while, but kept usind reddit. But after what happened in the last weeks, reddit is no longer something I want to be associated with.
For lack of a better description, I simply don’t ‘like’ reddit anymore. It’s like a friend who treated you like shit… Sure, you could still go to a party together and have fun, but it’s just not quite the same anymore.
It’s not so much about what they did, most people understand reddit has to make money at some point. It’s the how that is driving people away imho. At least it is for me.
Useful fact: You can dial 911 in Eirope as well. Android will forward your call to the local emergency service.
I don’t think they will lose a lot of users on 1st of July. But some moderators will leave, others will continue with shitty tools that make their job hard. Overall, there will be more spam and more rule-breaking comments. Whether it will be bad enough to make people leave the site at some point, I don’t know.
You’re in the wrong community(magazine?) if you’re tired of people talking about reddit.
Wha is there a boost and upvote option? What’s the difference?
I had reddit premium although I used a third party app. I wanted to support the platform. I spent so much time on it and really liked the way reddit worked… being centered around communities and giving them the power to have their own rules.
I canceled my subscription a week ago and will not go back. Needless to say, this isn’t a company I want to have any of my money.
It is! Hello fellow kbinian!
Any idea how many users we have?
Nooo, don’t listen! It’s a trap!! 🙂
I agree it’s somewhat complex for the average user, but I 'm questioning whether they really need to understand. I subscribed to kbin, started using it like reddit. Federation is now enabled, too, but if I hadn’t seen a post about it, I wouldn’t even have noticed. The cool thing is you don’t need to care where the content is if you don’t want to, you still can enjoy the platform ang get a lot out of it.
Tell me something about you. What things do you like? Any interesting hobbies?
