This is his only play, all his life - get into a situation that is over his head, like a casino, or real estate, or acting, or literally every aspect of government, where he makes things worse and damaging to the industry, and then extracts bribes and extorts people in those deals industries with promises to give them exceptions from that harm. It’s mafia shit. He is running a racket with a system he didn’t build but he did take over by force.

Yeah but it’s gotten better. When I was a kid in the 70s/80s almost everyone just locked their dogs outside in the back yard and didn’t consider them family like they do now. I mean, it was their dog, yes, like sorta family, but these days almost everyone literally considering their dogs actual family, and most probably think of them in terms of being akin to children and best friends. They used to be just property and tools to a lot of people. That applies to lots of animals now, people are getting more compassionate and evolved with their theory of mind in animals. Insects, reptiles and fish are starting to sneak into that evolution as well.

That’s the plan, but hilariously the majority of the first wave of SA immigrants moved back because they said the US was too expensive and too crime ridden. They also didn’t like the grind culture and lack of third spaces. Like yeah, welcome to hell, assholes, hope you enjoyed your stay. Now git!

And a shit ton of rubes are about to invest in a company with minuscule profits but a 2 trillion dollar valuation, more than the entire gdp for the US. A shit ton of people are gonna lose their asses before the price drops to something more realistic, and by then the wealth transfer to musk will already have happened.

Unlike the age of Vietnam, people today aren’t going to be moved by these numbers. Not til they’re much much larger than Vietnam’s. What they are going to care about is now that the bond market is finally beginning to slap the knuckles of investors, interest rates are going to explode, and mortgage payments/rent are going to become a problem for a huge swath of Americans who thought they could simply ignore politics.
