It’s because Google are the main contributors to it, and as such have a lot of power over the directions it goes.
Here’s a somewhat decent article I randomly found that explains it a bit better than I can

Chromium is still controlled by Google though, and they way it benefits them is giving them market share and user base. It’s not as direct as using Google, but indirectly still benefits them to have such massive market share with chromium that they can do whatever they want with it. See:manifest v3 and working against adblockers

Agreed, I’d really like to know how that goes! I didn’t even think of selfhosting stoat, but I’m intrigued now

That’s the other thing, everyone’s use case is slightly different, which honestly I’m kinda glad there are so many options for even if all of them have their flaws.
I like my mint and xfce tho :(

I don’t think quantum computing is a bubble at all, at least not yet. It’s still firmly in the stage of being explored and understood in a healthy way. I could see it having the possibility of being a bubble, but it would take significant advances in making it more available.

Strikeout might have to not have the spaces between the tilde and the words?
test test test
Edit: yeah just remove those spaces between the tildes and the contents

I have a feeling þey don’t give a shit

Are you a bot or something?

Understandable tbh, though since the 90s there had been actual progress, if slow. I think it will probably remain a fairly niche thing and not for everyone, but it does provide a unique experience in my opinion.
I have an oculus quest 2 (technically meta now but fuck that) that I still use occasionally, and even though it’s a bit old now it’s still decent. And actual modern headsets are much better, and the steam frame should be about on par or a little better than the quest 3, but not made by meta, running Linux, and with steam library integration. There are better spec ones out there, but it gets expensive quick.

Tbf its a pretty recent thing, was only announced in November, and I’ve really only seen coverage of it in places that regularly talk about VR. As someone interested in VR though I am quite excited for it.

How is this downhill?

Lesser evil politics without pushing for better candidates and also doing community building gets you fascism. Just voting for the lesser evil and calling it a day is technically better than voting for the fascist, but not a whole lot as it lets the status quo slip.
Also, what the fuck else are you supposed to do? Be accelerationist and vote for the fascism? Just refuse to participate and and let whatever happens happen? Both of those sound like ways to also get fascism.

I mean some of them legit do (cough Fetterman), and a lot just don’t particularly care about stopping it, but that’s beside the point, I know the kind of people you’re actually talking about. There is still value in electing the lesser evil, and pushing to get better and more progressive Dems in office (that are usually better at pushing back against fascism anyways)

I have a couple Minecraft servers using pterodactyl :3
I probably will self host a lot more when I have my own place and money tho

The thing is, oil is an incredible resource with properties unlike any other, so we should stop fucking burning it
If all we we use oil for is solvents and lubrication and such, it would probably be perfectly fine, and we would have enough for centuries.

Both, tbh

The 80s were 40 years ago. The security landscape is so different now, even if it was a perfectly valid book on how to actually hide anything then, it is not accurate at all to the current environment and internet. There may be some physical security things that apply, but even with those there are likely things that now need to be taken into account that did not exist then.
throw them away as soon as there’s any visible sign of wear
Well there’s your problem
If they need food, fast? I’m not sure what age has to do with it. Why would anyone over 20 not want to go to a fast food chain?
