Pretty much, the Republican party all the way up to Trump doesn’t even hide that they’re anti-Democracy, and attempts to break democratic systems that underpin our entire government nay our way of life are basically out in the open.
Hope it’s not as bad as I think (“as bad as I think” means “mass killings;”) What else can I do? Everyone else here seems to be privileged enough to have the skills or plain cash to say “I’ll go somewhere else,” isn’t as worried as they should be, or think they’re Apocalypse Badass Man (see: accelerationists.) That’s not me. I’m unskilled, poor, I have the self-introspection to know I don’t have what it takes to be a revolutionary.
Game Pass is a profoundly stupid decision. It doesn’t make it’s money back and now Xbox users are used to not paying for games. And from a consumer perspective, enshittification always eventually happens with subscriptions.
FOSS is strongly supported by communists, but there’s also strong support for it from right-libertarians (when I was younger I remember the stereotype being that Linux users believed taxation was theft)
(I agree that the way FOSS operates is anarcho-communist in nature; I just think people with fringe politics are more likely to support FOSS in general)
USA is Easy mode. It’s just that Western Europe, Australia, Japan, and Canada are Very Easy mode.
Just Linux usually.
GNU/Linux if I need to differentiate most Linux distros from non-GNU OSes using the Linux kernel such as Android, Chrome OS, and Alpine.
I’m no combat expert, but I’ve heard some people say numbers don’t win modern wars so a draft isn’t necessary.
With China in particular it would be poking the bear; recruitment is on the decline in both China and USA.
A while back I remember hearing “dying” was only accurate in the West, but that was a matter of years ago so it may or may not still be true.
To me it sounds like this is saying they’d have to make their own hardware if they wanted to make Dreamcast or Saturn Mini, not that they intend to do so.
Huh? Source on this? Their latest arcade board line uses Intel CPUs and nVidia GPUs. That’s the only hardware they make right?
My issue is that this is the kind of law I’d traditionally associate with China, and. I do think we should be harder on foreign influence but I think it erodes our freedom to do it like this. Especially given that nothing is being done about AIPAC or white nationalist Russian asset Elon Musk.
I also worry a conservative will buy it and boost manosphere, white nationalist, etc. content more. And as it is TikTok boosts these people, intentionally or not.
I know it’s not completely unprecedented, something similar happened to Grindr, but this is a higher profile case.
Grief…doesn’t motivate you. In movies, guys like me, people who have had loved ones killed through prejudices and big evil organizations 🐘 do something about it. Whether that’s activism or something more illegal. But I was way more aggressive about my political views before my girlfriend died. Now it’s like…I can’t muster up the ability to give enough of a shit to do more than vote.
It has reduced the size of synthesizers, or rolled them into software. Just about everything else needs to be the size it is for physics reasons.
American TV and movies after the '00s. Not representative enough of normal American life to be relatable (which is why I like '90s and '00s American TV so much) and not original enough to be interesting (which is why I’m into anime.)
It makes me feel like crossdressing, so I do. Occasionally I see an outfit that needs at least B cups to work (usually something with a boob window) and it makes me feel jealous I don’t have that.
But I’m with you, I completely disagree with the comment saying men’s fashion is interesting if you look for it. It’s not, the only forms of men’s fashion that are interesting are the forms that society has labeled “feminine.” Going into a store and seeing all the men’s clothes in neutrals and actual variety in the women’s cemented my interest in crossdressing.
If Stone Temple Pilots ever does that acoustic tour focusing on their softer songs they cancelled due to COVID (they’ve toured since but not that particular idea.) Perdida is one of my favorite “post-prime” albums from any band, and in general STP’s softer material is what makes them one of my favorites.
I’ll go to see My Chemical Romance if they put out a new album.
David Gilmour.
Weezer in a theater (I went to the Hella Mega Tour but Weezer I’ve heard is way better in a theater than an arena.)
I’m an apatheist. Just don’t try and force me to care about your religion or lack thereof.
Star Wars belongs firmly in the “science fantasy” category; it’s a work that draws on both sci-fi and fantasy tropes.
