I managed to get myself back into Snowrunner this weekend following the Season 10 release. Honestly it’s my favorite expansion so far for two simple reasons: the second map has a garage, and all the warehouses (so far) have unlimited quantities of materials, instead of the limited set that has been the norm through most of Years 1, 2, and 3 (so far).

Otherwise, just grinding away on the OSRS group ironman as usual!

Interestingly, Trey Parker and Matt Stone bought Casa Bonita in 2021 and they just reopened it this month.

Just make it so if you stop providing regular updates/servers/maintenance, etc. you lose the copyright

Or maybe it has to do more with the region in which they’re lost. The USCG is typically very good about aiding anyone within their AOR, no matter their socioeconomic class. The real advantage to nuclear subs is their operational range, which is definitely an asset to the US and probably is to Australia. However, the most important part of the AUKUS deal is that not only is the US handing over some (probably) Flight III 688i boats or Virginias in the interim, but also the US and the UK are working with Australia to come up with an indigenous design for Australia to manufacture in country. The US and UK are also working to train Australian sailors and engineers on how to build, operate, maintain, and retire nuclear submarines, and that goes a lot further towards building Australia’s defence capabilities than buying a handful of diesel boats from France.

Frankly the biggest safety issue is that they have no transponder. So even if something goes wrong and they have to surface, rescuers are stuck looking for a drifting needle in a 41 million square mile haystack.

I’m holding out for a College Football community (or, really, an FCS football community). We’re coming up on the season, and I’m gonna miss the shit talking and Game Day threads, not to mention general CFB news and updates.

I mean, one good long term solution is either ban or heavily, heavily tax corporate ownership of single family homes. And heavily tax short term vacation rentals. Basically force all the companies that are buying up blocks and blocks of single family housing to sell.

Then, take a look at zoning laws. I have no experience with this side, but they’re probably often a barrier to creating medium or high density housing. Which we’re gonna need a lot of in the near future.

Apparently foreign home ownership is a big issue in Canada, so I have to assume it’s also a (smaller) issue in the US.

Basically, the issue I see is not that there isn’t enough housing. It’s that corporate greed is pricing people out of their neighborhoods and then the houses are sitting empty because they’re barely worth $150k, but the “market” says they can be listed at $400k, and not many people can afford that.

I mean, anything will crack under pressure. The biggest issue I see is uneven compression of the two materials coupled with different fatigue behaviors. I’d feel a lot safer if the whole submarine was titanium, honestly. Barring that, a couple inches of solid steel would be just as comforting.

Well with all that taken into account, the fact that we haven’t seen any evidence of the sub yet is a very bad sign.

I can’t recommend Stardew Valley enough. It’s $5, but so absolutely worth it. Especially since there are no mtx, and is still getting updates, albeit a bit behind the PC version. One of the best uses of $5 on the app store imo

I am hopeful, but not necessarily optimistic…if it lost power and descended below crush depth, no amount of life support is bringing them back.

My cynical take is that the rights to any video games for those franchises are owned by the likes of EA, who just like recycling the same game over and over, year to year, because it’s cheap and easy and brings in a boatload of profit from Mtx. Developing a new arcade style sports game would cost money and not be the guaranteed cash cow of, say, Madden 23.

Of course! The biggest help for me was having friends that kept me on track, just as I kept them on track. It’s easy to convince yourself to take a 3 hour study break. It’s hard to convince yourself and a couple friends of the same. Good luck!!!
