The main problem with stadia was Google. I knew it was doomed from the start and that’s why I never bothered with it. I actually know a lot of people that didn’t bother with it because it was from Google. It’s basically a self fulfilling prophecy at this point that most of their shit ends up on the Google graveyard.
A lot of people actually don’t trust Google anymore since they’ve already been screwed over many times by them.
It’s worse. They’re not even apologizing for their actions but the “confusion and angst”.
It’s kind of like saying “we’re sorry you feel that way” and are somehow misunderstanding what they’re trying to do. They might as well have said, sorry dumbasses but it’s going to happen regardless. Perhaps in some watered down form, perhaps not this/next year, but it will happen.
Im also saddened that this is at the top of my feed. I want to laugh not be annoyed by some shitpost badly hidden as a meme.
I don’t really want to rewatch the 4 hour or so stream but off the top of my head’ -ship combat wasn’t fun (he didn’t get it and found it unreasonably hard) -he did not care for the RPG elements and doesn’t like games where you have to play for a lot of hours before it becomes fun -he found the combat clunky compared to other shooter games
He admitted he probably wasn’t the right audience for the game since he never really liked Bethesda games. He just wanted to try something different. Also story seems to be not that important to him generally. I personally love Bethesda games and can get completely absorbed in them. But I can also definitely understand it’s not for everyone.
A lot of people like to think the world is either black or white with no in-between. As someone who works in construction and renovates houses a lot I can confirm that there are definitely good land lords as well as bad ones. My gf rented an appartment from old people before I met her and she paid almost nothing (400 euros all-inn), you can’t even get social housing for that here. And the state of maintenance was excellent. Also in the more rural areas here the private rent sector seems to be run by mostly decen people.
Then sometimes we have to renovate ex-student housing and a lot of times those buildings are absolute dumps (to the point where you can barely call them habitable) with insane prices. Especially in the large cities I see some really bad practise. Thankfully a lot of those malicious kind of landlords are put on trial (hence why we start renovating after they sold the property).
Disclaimer: I don’t live in the US and tenants have a lot of rights here to the point where landlords are forced to provide a certain standard of living. Unfortunately (foreign) students seem to not know this, this is the reason you mostly see malpractice with students here.
Since most governments are filled with people who have way more money than they can spend in a lifetime probably never.
I will never understand why people who live in poverty or barely get by look at some rich CEO/billionaire whatever moneybags person go “yeah this person will probably understand my hardships and make it right, let’s make him governor or president”.
A lot of politicians are completely out of touch and as long as they’re doing well everyone must be doing well (or they simply don’t care).
I agree too. The fact is that our planet is simply fucked if we keep this ever urge for growth. It’s not sustainable and the cracks are clearly showing.
People don’t want to hear it but we should have a max 1 child limit per couple for at least some years or encourage people not to have children at all. Then when we’ve reached a healthy sustainable population have a 2 children max limit.
Less people = less consumption= less pollution.
The negative opinions basically boil down to the following:
people who have played the game and genuinely don’t like it (like asmongold) and have good arguments why they don’t like it. I respect these people opinions. You can tell them apart because they actually name the things they don’t like in the game with constructive arguments.
People who haven’t played the game and probably never will and just regurgitate what the hate train is saying. If you ask them why it usually boils down to “it looks boring”, okay cool have played it? No? Okay is there anything else you don’t like? Then the usual “bethesdaslop” and calling people idiots or shills start. I mean what are you even trying to accomplish? Are they just annoyed others are having fun while they’re angry? I don’t take these people seriously and you can usually easily pick them out of the comments.
The game will probably get review bombed on metacritic and the likes, I’m calling it now. Just the amount of stupid articles and YouTube make it a self fulfilling prophecy. I won’t give a shit, I’ll try it on gamepass when it comes out. If I like it I will keep playing it and if I don’t I will stop. It’s as simple as that.
I really don’t see why people feel the need to jump on some hate train just for the sake of disliking something. It’s just as annoying as people who want to be contrarian just to look interesting.
It’s not a brag, period. Not having a buttload of bugs should be the bare minimum every game should strive for. It’s like saying “we sell the least rotten food in town”.
Its pretty sad that we’ve gone from “most epic adventure” and “largest open world you’ve seen” to “least buggiest game”
Nonetheless, I’ve enjoyed most Bethesda games and I have gamepass on pc and will definitely try the game.
For real. Even though there is shitposting here too, there is much better conversation going and not the typical “no u” bullshit Reddit is infested with.
I feel like most quality posters left Reddit and it shows in many of the larger subs. Unfortunately not all topics are discussed here yet so I still sometimes have to go to Reddit (don’t have an account anymore). But when I do, holy shit the comment section is a dumpster fire.
A platform is as good as it’s users. I left Reddit because it turned into a shithole. I’ll do the same with Lemmy if that happens.
I actually like the multiple smaller communities here, it’s part of the charm. If you think an instance is becoming too big just go to another one.
You can’t really do that on Reddit since everyone is on the same big instance.
Also leaving Reddit is the best thing for my mental health I’ve done in a while
Why does the packaging need plastic though? It’s absurd to me that coffe cups and stuff have to be degradable and made out of wood/carton (which is a good thing). And yet for a product where it shouldn’t matter “hey let’s use as much plastic as we can for this packaging”.
I’ve been keeping SD cards in a drawer unprotected for years and I have yet to see one break.
The record and movie industry must be paying out of their asses to have this shit taught in schools.
Let’s teach our kids the importance of making billionaires richer and not actual important stuff like checking facts or making a well informed decision when voting.
Absolute dystopian bullshit.
Yeah I don’t get it either. I see people moving back to Reddit because of this shit. Lemmy is already much less user friendly. Defederating over dumb shit just makes people move away again since they can’t find the content they want without having ar least a couple accounts.
At this point I feel like Google wants to Intentionally kill off YouTube so they don’t have to bear the cost anymore. Just another one for the Google graveyard.
Rome. I was so sad when they cancelled it.
