I’d say it’s more tragic than cruel. In my mind, cruelty requires conscious decision, something the universe is incapable of. The universe isn’t inflicting anything, it is simply happening.

I’m not implying your worries are not valid, but I’ve never understood this perspective from my point of view, an uncaring universe is freeing. We have no responsibility to any great power, and are free to choose our own path.

That’s what I did actually! I thought that would bypass any weirdness, but looks like it still did that.

I know that’s a feature, I just also heard that we should avoid uploading directly to the instance to avoid clogging it up. Is this actually an issue, or an overreaction?

On a slightly related note, how do I make the post show a thumbnail, like other posts I see here? I see some other imgur submissions with thumbnails, but mine doesn’t for some reason. EDIT: Found it! I have to open the image in a new tab, then use that link instead.
