15·2 years agoYes. They never gave away content of emails, because they couldn’t even if they wanted to. It’s encrypted.
They gave the recovery email for the account to the authorities, which was an iCloud account tied to the user’s real name.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How can a person be very sad, irritated or angry and still not show it on their face ?
671·2 years agoI’ve had depression for years. You get good at pretending to be happy/ok and you mostly just become numb and very good at hiding things on the outside.

Open Source@lemmy.ml•Proton's Free plan now offers up to 5 GB (up from 1 GB) on Proton Drive and 1 GB (up from 500 MB) on Proton Mail after completing certain tasks.
9·3 years agoIt’s marketing. Someone who signs up for the free email might not interested in drive. But then to get extra space in the emails they need to follow the tasks that make them interact with the other products, which will help gain people’s interest.
Change to protonmail and move away from google altogether.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Is there a website and keeps track of what bad stuff big tech is responsible for?
221·3 years agoThe problem is that this would need to be proven. We all know it happens, but if anyone makes that website they need 100% proof or they’re going to be sued.

This only seems to show November. A lot of places did sales in the run up to Black Friday too. It could have been discount for the past month and then they went back to the non-sale price after Black Friday.

Financially stupid? I guess, but that applies to almost all collectibles. So does paying to go out for a meal when it’s cheaper to cook at home, but people still do it because they enjoy it.
