science@lemmy.world•The hallucinogenic mushroom that contains no known psychedelicEnglish
1·2 months agothere’s also conditions that result in you seeing things as very small or large, so there are brain malfunctions or conditions not related to consumption of substances that cause similar effects, your brain can see people or human figures more often in visual stimulation in certain circumstances, so a mushroom causing you to see small people could mean it creates those conditions in brain function where you see human figures more and their size is distorted. this could be brain function and not a cultural response to intoxication.

32·2 months ago325 are 3D out of 350,000 guns found in CA in connection to a crime in 2024, according to random assholes on reddit.
This is a pretty dumb thing to pass legislation on considering it’s still VERY easy to buy a gun even in CA, another method of getting a gun isn’t making it easier in any real sense.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Can I become a writer when this is the quality of my writing? Please be honest.
2·2 months agoto be clear, I was mostly just trying to have criticism that was outside writing choices that would hopefully sound dumb.

22·2 months agoyeah, also I’ve seen this font before. and I really only respect writing that’s printed out. so. maybe do that to. but not on white paper. we’ve all been there. on green paper with dark green print. it’s a BOLD choice.
yeah what are you gonna do about it? Just do things yourself!?! I don’t think so!!
tricky with only four dimentions, but I’d use a Grathenbour’s loop with a transverse Z axis movement if gimbal locks are ignored, naturally.
teal really proved living well is the best revenge.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is a small thing you did that changed your life in a big way?

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is a small thing you did that changed your life in a big way?
8·4 months agoI spent decades taking it seriously. The occasional bit with ‘‘yeah don’t be an asshole’’ isn’t worth anything next to the pro slavery, pro genocide, hateful parts. Even Jesus called Samaritans dogs compared to so called pure blooded Jews, none of this is morally OK when you hold it accountable to itself as a text.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is it wrong of me not giving a shit when cops get killed? They signed up for the job know what it entails. Same with Firepeople. I feel bad 4 families but no one gives a shit about Nurses or DRs?
9·4 months agoFirefighters don’t deserve to die, they don’t harm anyone. But I agree the boot of the oppressor isn’t sympathetic.

6·5 months agoThat’s not the problem. the problem is having a “lets turn Chris’ mental illness that’s harmed no one so far, into everyone’s violent problem!” machine.
that’s a bad machine.
You’ll never be a billionaire if you keep foolishly indulging in the luxury of eating and drinking. You’ll also wasting time eating and expelling waste, you could have two or three other micro hustles to get ahead, you’re only two or three centuries away from success!
Because it was a Dune reference.

3·6 months agoSplurging on double ply toilet paper that is free of bark. Recklessly spending on biannual toothbrushs. carelessly using their lunch break to eat instead of adopting mico-hussles. foolishly agreeing to pay rent instead of taking money out of their grandfather’s equity built trust fund to buy expansive rental properties.
why are they so bad with money?

the corrosion of two personalty that reshape each other until they’re incompatible, I guess. but also a lot of dysfunction. I got so good at being a grey rock in the face of their exciting need to be excited by constantly fighting that they got bored of trying to get a reaction out of me and I got tired of the panic attacks and suicidal thoughts. Anyway, separation has been nice, but having kids means you’re locked into a kind of relationship that necessitates mutual good faith cooperation so it’s a nightmare. REALLY don’t have kids with people you haven’t lived with first for several years. 6mo whirlwind relationships are a bad place to invest the next 20+ years of your life, also, you can’t out run, out think, or recognize your truama, you are you, and you can’t not you. therapy early and often.
