Probably one of the people in positions of authority who are paid to make such decisions. I gotta work a morning shift today, should I ask them if today is the day?

Alot of states in the US have like the opposite of pro rated minimum wage where they actually are paid less than minimum wage because they earn tips.
So like a waitress earns $2.75/hour as opposed to $10/hour because she might make that up in tips within the hour. That’s the thought anyways.
Did a waitress laugh at you when you asked for her phone number or something? You seem extra worked up about this.
I’m not defending tipping. It’s unnecessary and overcomplicated. I’m defending the wait staff that didn’t make the rules but have to rely on them to live.
You can’t hate it all you want, but until we’re ready to actually change it at a core level, the bill the waitress hands you shouldn’t be where you try to make your point.
Thank you for your service.
Now could you please just tip your waitress for your chicken tendies next time you’re out? I mean it’s what, $6?
Bro I work 50 hours a week. If my place closes, another one will open. I’ve worked at at least 15 different places since I’ve been 18. We hate you and resent you for walking in the door, regardless of tipping.
Literally, just stay home. If you can’t afford to tip, or don’t want to, just stay home.
Cook at home, we don’t want you there anyways.
**Gosh I didn’t realize Lemmy was so full of broke assholes hell bent on taking money out of service employees pockets. Very working class of you guys!
I mean okay but in 5-10 years these are going to be those older cars.
Republicans seem to throw their weight around all the time and never need this excuse. Dems have no teeth, they never have. They had 2 years of full control during Obama’s first term and couldn’t get anything done and let the GOP carve up Affordable Care just so they could take pretend it was bipartisan. The excuses just get old, I’ve been hearing them since they let bush steal the election
So he’s going to stay in his position way past when he reasonably should because of pride and not take advice from his friends and family to step down so he could transfer power to a worthy successor?
I’m xxl but I’m also built like a plastic bag filled with mashed potatoes. When I was younger I was last in the pacer test.
We’re all just supposed to pretend like Israel isn’t the weirdest country on the planet. You’d think the term “religious ethnostate” would say all that needs to be said, but no, somehow seemingly normal, sane people think there is nothing wrong with it and in fact encourage it…
I’m not on here talking about the “change” I’m enacting by voting third party. I’m not pretending I’m doing anything except for voting for the candidate I believe in and I don’t really see why it’s such a controversial take on these boards.
Preach, brother.
I’ll exercise my right to vote for whoever I want. It’s honestly wild to have this argument with liberals every single year. The Dems don’t deserve my vote just because I don’t like the other guy and you aren’t going to shame me into voting for their guy.
It’s not wasted for me. I’ll vote for whoever I want. I don’t care if they don’t win, I understand the politics of this country, but I refuse to vote for someone I don’t agree with and who my values don’t align with. I’m not here to play a numbers game, that’s not for me to play, I just want to vote for the candidates best aligned with my views.
I mean, could you imagine? The horror…
I honestly don’t see the problem. I’m not putting that little bread clip back on the bag once it’s off.
A post on r/latestagecapitalism of a political cartoon mildly criticizing the spending for Ukraine war effort, it was the first time I really actually noticed a botted comment section. I noticed similar accounts clearly astroturfing the post and basically stopped using the platform that day.
The whole reason I found reddit to be useful was the discussion within the posts from real people with real opinions. If that’s no longer the case then I can get the same aggregated content elsewhere. I can’t use the site knowing the discussion is so influenced, at least on some level, in some subs. It’s gross.
