Almost all AAA games are online live service games. I have absolutely no interest in those games. I have been surviving off of indy or lower budget games pretty well while the big guys are off trying to make all the money doing boring shit.

The choice is to extend the deadline and work as normal or crack the whip in a vain hope you reach the deadline. Don’t lie like a fucking cunt and say you had no choice.

Not as a hobby by choice. They would love to do it and pay the bills but given no other choice they will work some other 9 to 5 and work on their passion in their off time. That’s why artists are always taken advantage of so often. They know artists do it because because they love it and can be paid and treated like shit. Just look at the video game industry.

We will always have art because it is a fundamental human thing to do no matter if we do it for money or just for ourselves. What we lose is the potential output of artists who could make a living making great things all day every day and feed themselves doing it.

I have zero interest in online live service games so largely the entire AAA output for the last 5 years I have no interest in.

I only use DODI when there is no Fitgirl release. DODI torrents are always behind spam/scam link gates and the installer is horrible. In the DODI installer to start it for some reason you have to press the up arrow or something. Just… why? It’s like he saw that feature on his phone lock screen and decided to add it without asking himself what purpose it serves. The installer is also totally broken if you have changed windows scaling so every time I want to use it I have to go into the properties and disable scaling.

In my opinion core infrastructure like the router should not be virtualized. I want to be able to work on my proxmox server or reboot it without bringing down the whole network. And if there is a problem with my proxmox server I now have the additional headache of having the network down too and my IPKVMs don’t work.

I would 100% still work if I were rich. The only thing that would change is when and what I work on.

You know you are a lovely business when your customers don’t use you because they like your product but rather because they feel trapped.

I have been looking at Garage. Not sure if you can set certain buckets to different mount points or whatever but it does seem to be easier to setup and update which would make running two instances much less painful.

You could probably set up a cloudflare tunnel. I forget what they call it. I think technically sending video through it is against their TOS but if just a few friends and family are using it I doubt you will hit their naughty list.

When you have a leveling system and everything in the world levels up along side you there may as well not be a leveling system at all. Devs do it when they want to say they have a leveling system but are too lazy to make it work correctly.

Disable passwords and use public private keys and don’t worry about it
