Slashdot. I have a very low 3 digit UID. I followed Rob Malda’s blog before he registered the domain.
I remember having Netscape open on the site and reading it. I walked a couple blocks to by a pack of smokes. Got back home and refreshed the page. Noticed a new post with site registration available, so of course I did.
To this day I still get password reminder requests to my email that I never sent.
I still comment and sometimes get some people replying noticing the low UID.
Silly I know, but it’s cool to me anyway.

Get your blood pressure checked, and checked often
I remember in the mid 90s I was looking at Linux World’s website and they had just implemented account registrations that same day. I was fuzzing the website and they had left directory browsing enabled and the users, passwords, and email was sitting in a plain text flat file that was world readable.
I emailed them, didn’t get a response but within the hour the registration/login was disabled along with no more directory browsing.
Respectfully, I am incapable of driving and need to get to doctors appointments and no longer live in an urban environment where cabs and public transportation is highly accessible.
It is what it is.
I am not an MD but I was told this by one. But yeah I gotta wipe a bit of I’m not on my primary throne that has a bidet attachment 💩💩
I just eat a whole grains (brown rice, not white. 100% whole wheat etc) and plenty of fruits and vegetables that naturally contains fiber in addition to many other beneficial nutrients.
Your stool should be the consistency like toothpaste squeezing out of a tube. Mine is, albeit I go 2-3x a day , but I’ll take it!
I spend way too much on my smart phone. That’s correctable, but I depend on Uber/Lyft. I think I would need to get a cheap android and just have the discipline to put only essential apps like ride share, maps, encrypted messenging and like nothing else. Not even email, Lemmy, bill pay, grocery delivery, etc
I paid the lifetime membership for Sync bc I wanted to support the dev and liked the app. Then I discovered the dev abandoned it 2 years ago.
I use Voyager now.

I assume we’re all over 40.
Seems weird to me too, I first started texting around 2005 when I finally got a cell phone. When I saw full punctuation I felt like I was getting scolded.

Amazon Warehouse I believe is open box and returns. It also gets confusing that marketplace sellers are mostly outside of Amazon’s control

I first started on Mosaic and Lynx! That was a lifetime ago.

I just switched to it on my android. Set as default. So far so good. Never heard of it until today.

Not getting enough protein is essentially starvation territory unless you’re actual athlete or bodybuilder.
There’s protein in celery. In garlic. In almost everything you eat. Yes I wouldn’t suggest making celery and garlic your only protein sources but you eat normal filling amounts of actual food and we’ll get enough, sans the stones people lass for getting too much.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to run a self-hosted Jellyfin server without having to run an entire data center on your house? I could do something simple like a NUC or equivalent and a tiny NAS, anything else?

That’s how Thug Kitchen started. To cut through the crap but also be funny at the same time

Lemmy kind of reminds me of Fidonet
Photo would be better if it was Saul Goodman
Proton is using that as a marketing gimmick. Swiss banking secrecy laws have absolutely nothing to do with user privacy outside of that.
Proton has complied with and handed over user data on multiple occasions.
Yes there is encryption and they can’t see things, but they will hand over what metadata (IP address, device info, recovery email, payment data) they have whenever a Swiss court compels them too.
