Usually by the second or third question they got as much out of Google Assistant as they are going to get (because they just keep asking variations of the same thing, but don’t quite grasp that it is really the same question, or they have now gotten to a hyper specific question). By question 5 or 6 they typically are done with Google and come to us to discuss further.

Summed up: convenience, and curiosity.

I can lay in bed and ask if to turn off the lights, and all lights in the house shut off (including the ones the kids forgot to turn off). That convenience is phenomenal.

And my kids who are too young to own their own devices can ask it questions. Whatever is on their random little minds, which very frequently leads them to a topic that they then come to us to discuss in depth. I love that it helps them foster their curiosity about the world around them and often enough leads to healthy conversations with Mom or Dad.

Technically Pikmin 3 also didn’t have co-op when it first released, that was a feature added with Pikmin 3 Deluxe. However definitely extremely disappointed they removed it for 4. Maybe it can be added later, but likely not until they release DLC or another Deluxe version…

I absolutely loved the Pkimin 4 Demo. Having played all 3 prior games, 4 resonated better with more emphasis on exploration and removing the “you have X days” pressure. Made it far more enjoyable personally.

The only thing I really wish they hadn’t eliminated was proper co-op. My son was very disappointed that all I could do was throw rocks and items rather than run around the world with him.

Well it’s a good thing the max draw of a switch is 18W, and this device has a specific 9V power profile for the switch. The 30W is there to support devices with a faster power delivery spec (such as the Steam Deck).

I would check out the Genki Covert Dock. It is a game changer when bringing the switch outside the house, but absolutely could be plugged in most of the time at home.

Its a wonderful grab and go dock, and they extensively tested switch compatibility - have had zero issues with mine.

I know that is a fun narrative, but I haven’t seen data to back that up unfortunately, it’s all been anecdotal evidence.

The companies who heavily track these metrics so they can recommend to their customers what platform to advertise on all seem to indicate that there is still plenty of regular human engagement happening.
