Nah…I’m perfectly fine just finishing the story.

Unless that’s part of the story 😅

I think I’m supposed to go to the area with the bees. I never found the entrance so the game’s been on hold for a few years 😬

This reminds me: I should finish Hollow Knight.
Some time ago I read about a similar situation with copyright preventing use of pictures of 70+ year old paintings in a doctoral dissertation. The dissertation was all about analyzing those paintings so the situation was sort of ridiculous.
Even worse, the owner of the paintings (the artist’s heirs) had given their permission for the use, but the the high quality photographs of the paintings were owned by institution that requested thousands of euros for their use. While 100% lawful and I understand cultural institutions also need money, the whole situation felt really wrong and against common sense and decency.
I understand requesting money from a commercial project, but for and academic dissertation that’s not fair. Same goes for emoji’s that are anyways used by millions of people every day. No one is going to profit directly from a dissertation anyways. It’s just stupid and should be changed.
Earlier today I read that Twit…X had threatened to sue and got quite an epic reply from CCDH lawyers which underlined the many ways in which a lawsuit would hurt X first and foremost. Apparently they decided to have a go anyway. Time to get some popcorn 🍿
That’s a helluva expensive shot. I mean, you should definitely get it, but nobody should have to pay that much for it. I guess that’s USA…
That would be Farscape + Nox Archaist. Very difficult to imagine what the crossover would be like 😅
Leaving Twitter was easy.
Just log out once and since you can’t even read embedded tweets without being logged in, you are practically isolated from the whole platform. If you last a few days, you realize that you’re not really missing anything…
Money happened.
Maybe so, although I don’t really have a interest in that. I really wish I was able to maintain my skills in both “fields”. I’ve found out that nowadays it is important to have people who can interpret layman problems and wishes to techies and explain technological “jargon” to “normal” people. Being a middleman like this seems to have it’s benefits.
Nox Archaist - Wasn’t expecting much, was blown away. Definetily not for everyone, but personally I think it’s the most engaging game I’ve played this year. Surpasses even Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
And just to make it clear: this is not a shit post. I really enjoy Nox Archaist so much.
A humanist here, working in the cultural heritage (which is also increasingly digital) field.
I reckon I have more computer skills than an average user but in no way I am a “techie”. It’s just that I know how to search for tech solutions and am not afraid of breaking the computer. Due to using Unity I also have some experience with C# and currently I am trying to learn python (mostly just for fun but you’ll never know if it ends up being helpful at some point).
So definetily not a tech person, but interested in both the humanist and technological side if life.
It’s the same age old story: big guy punches a small guy and when the small guy punches back, the big guy starts crying that he’s been punched.
Cause and effect, you reap what you sow.
Never really used it that much and I’ve been much more active in Lemmy than ever in Reddit.
However, if I have problem that need a quick answer, I usually search Reddit. This in not because it is somehow amazing, but because Google searches suck nowadays. Typing Reddit into the search query usually brings out the answer I need instantly.
It’s a bit off an off-topic but, can someone explain me the difference between IMAX and iSense? I’ve googled it but don’t fully understand it. How does iSense compare to this beast of an IMAX film reel for example? What about more standard IMAX theatres?
Thanks!
I usually just type as I find swiping unreliable.
As a side note, I just got a new phone with advanced haptics. This is the first time typing on a touch screen feels responsive 😯
I’m sure it also has something to do with that when you get older, you’ve had those experiences many more times than as a child. They just don’t feel that specia anymore.l
Great! I’ll need to get one before they run out of stock then.
