At this point it doesn’t matter what economic policies a tyrant nominally supports , the problem is the authoritarianism that they use that overshadows their economic outlook. Your freedom is just as screwed if you are a fascist labor conscript , or you are a prisoner working in a gulag on some trumped up charge.

The idea of socialism has a lot of appeal .

That is why wannabe tyrants latch onto it .

If you know how to code and you audit the code and compile it yourself from the source code ? Then it is 100% safe.

If the program is from a well regarded community and the source code is easily accessible to the public and it has been regularly reviewed by experts ? Then it is pretty safe.

If the program is from an unknown source and the source code is difficult to access by the public or it is obfuscated and no reviews are available? It is probably better to give it a miss and keep looking for a program that is more trustworthy which suits your needs.

There is also a danger that the kill switch command could be leaked to the Russians or the Chinese who would use it to shut down the USA’s defenses just before a full scale invasion of a now defenseless USA.

There are tons of titles that do not make reference to gender.

They are not going to run out of addresses , and Alphabet (google & friends) who owns youtube has massive server farms , so storage is unlikely to ever be a problem.

As long as users from allied instances can still post it is all good.

I work off a ticket system , Every morning I pick a ticket that looks like it is something I know how to solve and I work on it , at lunch I talk to coworkers about my task for the day and get their input and in turn I give my input to their tasks , then with luck I have the problem solved by 5pm when I go home for the day. I might continue to work on the ticket the next day or I might update the ticket as solved or unsolved (with my notes appended to help the next person if I am genuinely stumped) as appropriate.

Get a good under-mattress pad and prevent damage to your mattress. It is cheaper to throw away and replace a mattress protector than a mattress.

I can only speak for myself, I am a centrist gen Xer and I don’t give a damn about homosexuality or abortion . I personally think they should be background noise and unimportant issues when other issues are being considered. I neither support nor oppose these issues , because I have limited emotional energy and I would rather worry about important issues.

I am lurking and watching the dumpster fire at this point , reddit went full Authoritarian on Dndmemes and sacked a bunch of cool mods because we turned it into a goblin porn subreddit for the shutdown/blackout and the admins did not like that… so I am posting here now and watching Reddit burn in the distance.

Yes I am all for the idea of opposing hateful groups , but adopting their tactics and becoming just as hateful is not the way to accomplish this.

One thing we need to break into a billion tiny dust like pieces is the idea of “Super Moderators” who control hundreds of different boards . This idea lead to the group think that infected Reddit , because when a “Super Moderator” succumbs being prejudiced then it can effect the entire site , either directly on sites the now abusive “Super Moderator” deletes all posts that challenge their prejudices , or indirectly via a chilling effect when the abusive “Super Moderator” bans people from ALL of the subreddits they control, just for interacting with subreddits they disagree with , regardless of the content of those interactions , and with zero hope for appeal since any attempt at communication will be met with silence and a mute.

That can be difficult in a small town where the only supermarket is supplied exclusively by a wholesaler who has a deal with Nestle. And ordering candy from Amazon will just mean you get melted and/or spoiled chocolate weeks after you order.

Stay away from advertising money , if you need money to keep a server up then start a gofundme or a patreon or something … make it community based so that your instance stays community based .
