Just a sometimes grey muzzle poking at this net thing
Amazon upped it here by hiring courier companies, even helping to found them, with really bad contract deals, rather than hiring individual contractors like companies had before this.
Amazon is particularly good at thinking up ways to avoid responsibility, they own no vans, employ no drivers, have no planes nor employ any pilots, and they don’t own any tractors and don’t employ any truck drivers.
Did they change? I worked for them as a sorter before they were FedEx Ground, and at that time it was similar, each driver was a contractor with FXG, but after the lawsuit (dunno what happened with that), and seeing how successful the scam was for Amazon, I wouldn’t be surprised if’n they changed.
Apparently one bad performance, a performance that has little to do with the actual job, is enough to get him fired? Yes, yes, I know, he’s stumbled, he’s not perfect, but is anyone? I find the whole response to be sus as hell, and more than a bit racist. One debate and their willing to dump him? This sounds more like a paid attack on Biden fronted by sell out Democrats than a real response. And the rather noticeable lack of suggesting the VP, a black woman, takes over sounds more than a little bit racist. Why not bring Harris up? Give her a bigger more visible role in the administration and the campaign? Show whether or not she’s up for the job? Essential let the American people test drive her as a president.
Especially as it’s easy to do on the desktop
Try a reboot afterwards?
See other comments, you accept through the notification. I’ve been around Android since before that was something you could do, so I tend to forget about it. Now if only I could get NTFY to stop notifying me that it’s running…
Nothing really, having it installed is really a habit from my desktop where there isn’t an app.
Slaps his forehead, “Doh, forgot you can do such a thing, thanks.”
It particularly sucks for desktop use on phones that support it, no right click, no keyboard short cuts, and it clips a bit off the bottom of pages, and they’ve apparently said they have no plans to support desktop on Android.
True, I’m not sure what the solution is, but saying the rules only apply to certain players rubs me the wrong way. And that’s not even getting started on how much of the threat comes from US automakers refusal to produce electric cars until they were staring down a gun, plus how much they want to sell large expensive vehicles so they get nice large paychecks. Sure, China could and prolly is subsidizing their electric car industry, but we could do that too, in a way we already are with the tax credit only applying to American made vehicles.
True, but banning them seems like using a nuke to deal with a fly, just a bit overkill. I don’t expect the Chinese to play fair, but it seems that just saying that the rules only apply to American companies seems wrong and lazy.
Chuckles, “Yep, only American manufacturers should be allowed to cheaply build cars in Mexico and export them to the US.”
In what way? It has some nice features that I’d like to see in Firefox after all
This is the second time I’ve tried Floorp, and a far bigger failure than last time.
Well there is .floorp and .var/floorp for it’s files, so I’m really not sure what they did, I suspect they left a few code calls to something Mozilla and that’s where the problem lays
Could be the strong competition in China, there’s a lot of electric car choices there, more than any other country IIRC
Honestly I’m not really surprised, they’re a battery company that moved into making cars. Considering how important batteries are to electric cars, if they make reliable, cheap and powerful batteries, it won’t be hard to move cars, even mediocre ones, and from what I’ve seen, their cars are anything but mediocre.
We were already leaning towards replacing it with WalMart+ before this announcement. It used to be worth it when it was cheaper and got you next day delivery, but those are gone. We have little use for it’s various features, so we figure give W+ a try for a year, it’s cheaper, and seems to cover our needs, though there’s a good chance that’ll be a one and done thing, since I don’t think we’ll find it worth it, but I don’t see us going back to Prime.
FedEx is so very complicated, FXG isn’t union, Federal Express is, IIRC something to do with them being under FAA authority. Not sure about FedEx Freight, FedEx LTL or FedEx Expediting. And that’s just part of the mess of the company. As to the name thing, that was started by RPS, FXG’s predecessor, and was a single contractor buying a route from RPS, with RPS supplying vans and uniforms much the way Amazon does with their companies, but it’s entirely possible that some of those drivers bought multiple routes and formed up their own little company, or that FXG followed in Amazon’s footsteps and switched to contracting with companies rather than individuals.
