AJJ - People Who Can Eat People Are The Luckiest People

I knew them by their original name (Andrew Jackson Jihad) and was basically given this album as a demo from someone who knew the band.

There is something so raw and real about this album that just did not make it to anything that came later. It was like they gave up the edge that set them apart when they rebranded to make themselves more marketable.

I get it, the original name was bad. Like actually pretty bad. But I also genuinely feel like the name wasn’t the only thing they changed.

I grew up hearing about company loyalty. That world does exist anymore but the business world really wants you to believe it does

I just installed gimpshop the other day on a whim and immediately I could work at 90% capacity just based 20+ years of Photoshop muscle memory. Gimp never lasted more than a day with me the dozen or so times I’ve tried it before.

For me it depends entirely on 1) which hobby and 2) how the mainstream audience shapes it; if investors believe they can make more money by promoting certain aspects of the hobby, they can change it’s entire landscape. And that’s not even getting into what can happen when IP law gets involved.

It’s a shitty tradeoff to have to make, because sometimes I just want to everyone to enjoy what I enjoy. I’ve also seen hobbies die from too much exposure.

Building on this metaphor, one of my single biggest frustrations with the left is how many of them won’t accept anything short of a fully knit cardigan; unless they get exactly what they want, they’d rather just hand it over to the tanglers.

The divinity games definitely felt inspired by DND. I’ve even been able to convince friends (including some who don’t play video games at all) to pick it up because of how similar it feels to tabletop. Larian was a natural choice for BG3 and I’m convinced that was part of the vision with their early work
