Might want to take off those rose colored glasses, but if you truly believe this I have a bridge to sell you.

FYI, Ray Ban is just a brand name owned by the same company that owns most well known glasses brands.
Once you realize how consolidated the eyeglass industry is its a lot harder to find truly independent brands.
It was a jokey, throwaway comment that wasn’t intended to have a lot of depth or promote introspection, so you’re right. Continuing the discussion is meaningless, yet here we are.
2% total weight of flour, and Subway’s was 10%.
That’s why I put “bread” in quotes. I was poking fun at the court ruling about subway’s bread not being bread legally because of the amount of flour weight that was sugar.
Truth, though I wonder how many grams of carbohydrates do you suppose that “bread” has?
They’re probably right for the wrong reason.

Just did this myself. I had a collection of regular watches that I went back to and I’m loving it.
I also just bought a DAP for music and already have an XTEink X4 ereader. Slowly moving to get rid of a mart phone all together.

What downvotes?

lol
artificial scarcity
That’s called “lack of demand”

Only a little over 10% of Americans have an e-reader and their popularity is declining.
E-ink screens will continue to be niche technology without the advantages of increased development by competing manufacturers.
Way back in the early 2000s cellphones varied greatly. All the designs and models that were available and all pretty distinctive. Today the market is almost exclusively touch screen smart phones; evolutions of the early designs by Apple, HTC, Samsung etc.
Three years later the first iPad was released and that same year Samsung released the Galaxy Tab.
Widespread adoption and competition drives development.

The market works the other way. You want a lot of adoption at the mobile level which will drive development faster and then those developments can be scaled up.
The iPad exists, in part, because of the iPhones specifically and the development of touch screen mobile technology in general.

There’s a whole article about HOAs. Pay especially close attention to the part about common interest developments, that’ll be the reason why HOAs are growing rapidly across the US.

It’s not about being fucked. As with all drugs there are those that will abuse it but GLP-1s have been shown to have physical effects that reduce food noise and make people feel fuller faster and for longer.
Have you ever eaten a meal and immediately afterward one of your first thoughts is what’s the next meal going to be? Or maybe you’ve felt satisfied, or even full but then that one food item you happen to have pops into your mind and you can’t get it out until you have some? That’s food noise.
The feeling fuller faster and longer is crucial because some peoples digestive systems respond to food intake very slowly making it easy and common to overeat. Or process food too quickly so they feel hunger sooner than others.
Combine the medication with improved habits and suddenly it’s much easier to lose weight. If your eating habits and intake doesn’t change then the medications aren’t going to cause weight loss magically.

Every time that happens I’m reminded of the saying, “You can’t reason someone out of a position they didn’t reason themselves into”.

Humans are worse. Dogs, and many other animals, simply follow their instinctive behavior. We, as humans, have the ability to reason and still do all the gross and nasty shit we do.

I believe Motorola already manufactured ALPRs for one of the other companies and decided to get into the ALPR provider business too.

Online piracy is still incredibly common, accounting for as much as 22% of online traffic during peak times.
While it has declined somewhat overall there’s starting to be a resurgence and the crackdown in 2023 that took down most of the pirating sites just consolidated a lot of it and evolved how people pirate.

Fund raising?
That is one common method of raising money privately for a cause or organization.

Privately funded with what?
Money that doesn’t belong to the government. For example, money that is privately owned.
Yep. I go to Costco now because I’m blind in one eye so the correction is only for the other eye. Costco only charges me 50% of the normal lens cost and the blind eye just gets a balance lens (weight matched to the other without correction).
I’ve walked out with a brand new pair of lenses and frames for $30 after my eye “insurance”.
