It shouldn’t be replaced. It should be thrown away. Smartphones should be just handheld computers for running an arbitrary OS to run user programs. Nobody needs, wants or asked for the “ecosystem”.

Linux has been around for 30 years already. There isn’t any technical reason why it isn’t more widespread. Reasons are artificial: only blobs instead of drivers for any phone-related modules.
I never liked the idea of that “obligatory Java”. I would prefer something more like a common OS for running common programs written in whatever language the programmer wants.
I don’t want Android to be open. I want it to die.

So instead of teaching your kids basic human interaction with trivial objects, you would prefer an Indian guy doing it with a teleoperated 20k chassis? Yes, my idea of parenting is vastly differs from yours :)

opening doors, fetching items and turning the lights on or off
That’s worthless.
teleoperation
I got rid of Microsoft, getting rid of Google and dozens of other surveillance aggregators. Why would I want this?
The idea is dead on arrival. Except maybe for a few very specific circumstances.

That’s a nice situation: you see, the answer is completely unimportant and affects nothing. So you can use whatever answer fits your set of arbitrary criteria. You want to show that the country is old? Use the first mention of the name. Very industrious? Use factories per mountain formula, etc…
Most Linux users don’t compile anything and live happily.
