This has gone like other “cats are not native to everywhere and are massively impactful to the areas in which they are introduced” threads has gone, and while it has been more civil than the last, is going a bit sideways.

Depriving cats of enjoyment and engagement is not nice, that’s why we as owners can play with them using toys designed to satisfy their predatorial urges. Leaving cats unsupervised outside is also not nice to local bird populations, or those unsupervised cats who suffer unspeakable outcomes.

Right? We always knew he was a sorry for babies and kids but are incredibly thankful that he’s taking it so well. I gave him a jackpot treat session when he gave her space after the first kiss and we’ve been reinforcing each one since.

Lol someone saw my second edit from the other day

MH4U on the 3ds was my first introduction and I actually kinda miss being able to quickly tap the items that were up on the touch screen to use them. World on PS and Rise on the switch scratch the itch but I was visibly upset that tracking didn’t make it into Rise; it was just a great mechanic and it felt extra satisfying to build out the monster knowledge, and it added some wonderful depth to the gameplay.

I’m not really all that crazy about the fort defense mechanic in Rise, I’d genuinely skip it if I could.

As much as I enjoy the series and still play it, there’s a certain amount of ennui that I’m experiencing when it comes to hunting Jaggis and the rest of the same monsters every time. New mechanics help to make up for it by having the hunt be slightly different, but wow what I wouldn’t give for a totally new experience playing Monster Hunter.

That last one, my gosh. Let me tell you about the first time I ate a burrito up here in New England… They gave it to me on a plate. With silverware. And the sauce and cheese on the gd outside.

My side of the family is slowly trickling into the state for their annual vacations in Maine, for two weeks this year instead of the usual 7 days. It’s nice though, getting to see each group when they arrive instead of showing up to 20-something people all at once, all in one house. It will be that level of craziness come Sunday, when they’re planning to throw (yet another) baby shower for us. Much as I enjoy not spending money, three baby showers is too damn high. I’m hopeful that my brother found the copy of Go the F#$k to Sleep we gave them when my niece was born.

One of our ducks, Pearl, hatched out a dozen little babies under my potting bench. While she’s exceptional at hatching them, she is a less than stellar mother and I have been responding to alarm peeps regularly while she sits around with the ones who manage to keep up with her.

There’s just so much hidden goodness inside! My last playthrough has me struggling less, and I found more, but apparently I just wasn’t thorough enough

Trying to actually get the good ending in Tunic, not too proud to admit I’m using a tracker this time around. And wow, I passed up SO. MUCH. last time around
