Your comment helped me get the joke, I was never going to watch the movie. Thank you.

41·3 years agoI only read the title and love Mullvad but for torrenting I’d absolutely recommend a seedbox instead. Some ones I can recommend are Whatbox.ca if you’re in North America or Seedhost if you’re in the EU. Feralhosting isn’t bad either specially for the price.
I started with Feralhosting but decided I wanted to try racing and bought a custom tuned server. Then I realized I didn’t want to pay $100 a month and switched to Chmuranet (sp?) and didn’t like how they treated their customers. Then I tried Seedhost which was great but the peering to North America wasn’t ideal. Finally I ended up with Whatbox and I’ve been happy with them ever since.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's some great software / website / services you've discovered recently?

Thanks for clarifying!
Basically RedHat changed their source code policy and have ostracized the open source community.

Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•What is a way to keep the main system as safe as possible aside from getting a completely separate computer for just pirated software?English
2·3 years agoI don’t unfortunately. This is from a conversation I had with a researcher in VM escape.
As far as I’m aware peripherals are not actually passed through exactly but rather emulated on the guest machine. When you pass through a peripheral you’re only passing the input of that device, data is not sent upstream.
Whereas passing through the GPU you’re providing a means of accessing non-emulated devices through the hardware itself bypassing the isolation provided by virtualization entirely.

3·3 years agoGPU passthroughs can expose the host to a potentially compromised VM.

5·3 years agoRemnant 2. I didn’t like the first one but man they’ve made an awesome sequel. It’s a ton of fun and very replayable, they’ve really managed to nail the Souls-Like formula while acing the procedural aspects as well.
