But they don’t ask questions. You can teach them sign language to a degree and they WILL use it to communicate, but so far none of them has ever posed a question to their researchers.

5·28 days agoI actually think the young crowd at MS would resist this. This looks much more like a top-down decision from marketing overruling engineering.
Last month? Takes years in my case.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Who were some of your childhood heroes that turned out to be horrible people?
508·1 month agoLovecraft deserves some redemption. First of all he wasn’t especially racist, just the “normal” amount for his time (take with a grain of salt please!). More importantly he significantly mellowed out in his later years primarily due to exposure to talented black writers which made him realize the error of his ways.
But yeah, I wouldn’t ask him to name my void cat.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is it theoretically possible Trump and ICE are killing a very large number of immigrants (like 25% of those detained) and no one knows?
161·1 month agoNot yet.
Historically though extermination comes a while after mass incarceration. Much harder to do the latter when the public is aware of the former. It’s unfortunately inevitable at this rate though.
Not fetch but he does have a favorite plushie toy that he takes with him wherever he goes. So adorable.

Technology@lemmy.world•DuckDuckGo poll says 90% responders don't want AIEnglish
9·1 month agoFirst, its results are often simply wrong, so that’s no good. Second, the more people use the AI summaries, the easier it’ll be for the AI companies to subtly influence the results in their advantage. Think of advertising or propaganda.
This is already happening btw, and the reason Musk created Grokipedia. Grok (and even other llm’s!) already use it as a “trusted source”, which it is anything but.

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•"DEI only improved things" at Ubisoft, says former employee "stunned" at "misinformation" claiming diversity, equity, and inclusion to blame for Assassin's Creed studio's drop in share pricesEnglish
144·1 month agoNothing wrong with DEI, although Ubisoft has always laid it on thick with their pre-game “this game was developed by a multicultural, multi-anything blablabla” messages.
Like, I don’t care about that at all. Give me a quality game, I promise I will never give a crap about the skin tone, religion or sexual orientation of its creators. That’s just not my fucking business.
Anyway, I don’t think DEI killed Ubisoft. Terrible leadership and total lack of vision did that.

Might actually improve things somewhat.
One of the advantages here is that you don’t have to be the fastest runner in the group, just faster than the slowest runner.
