I’m still struggling to believe that they’ve taken the wrong turn at every point.
When this whole thing happened I figured they’d soften their stance a bit, only to go back on it months or years later and essentially boil the frog slowly. I figured I’d just move to the official app, not that big a deal, especially if they improve it.
Yet 2 weeks later I’ve deleted reddit and running Jerboa now, the way the community rallied is nothing short of incredible and I’m really proud to be here.
You know protests don’t work, because the people in power are telling you protests don’t work.
I must admit I was a bit skeptical about whether the protest will work, especially since from the beginning there was a 48h deadline on it, which set us up for failure.
But the way the community has rallied around this cause makes me so proud.
Reddit the corporate entity is failing us, but they’re learning that they only have power because the community chose them. Wish them good luck with their upcoming IPO with reddit currently being a dumpster fire.
Because of course people are always reasonable and back people and policies that are in their interest.
It seems like by and large there’s support in Russia for the invasion in Ukraine. They might not be willing to go to full mobilisation, but if they don’t have to die themselves they’re fine with the invasion.
Do you propose that the Ukrainians should stop fighting and plead with the Russian people to overthrow Putin?
