The join page is definitely the issue. I had already joined lemmy.ml before I read that they were encouraging people to join other instances. Perhaps I should have read the page more closely, but if it was that big of an issue, make the warning/request more prevalent.

That’s fair and I feel the same way. I think it would have to be a loooong track record over multiple years to convince me.

That said, I’d like to give anyone the benefit of the doubt, even u/spez if he were to come out with a sincere enough apology (not that I’m holding my breath or anything).

Reddit would basically have to undo a decade of transformation and prove that they’ve learned to listen to their community. Only after earning my trust with a proven track record of community-driven decisions would I come back.

After the AMA yesterday, I made the decision to delete all of my posts and comments. I’m not sure I see a reason todeletee my account altogether as I think not giving traffic to Reddit is more important, so I left everything else the way it is. Maybe one of these days I’ll go back through and delete everything for good.

All that said, like most other people here, I have no intention of going back, especially after yesterday, unless there’s some sort of drastic change which is very unlikely.
