You don’t see how terrible Windows is until you’ve switched to another OS and need to interact with it again.
The constant pop-ups, the ads everywhere, the settings hidden away.
It really feels like your PC isn’t yours.

No please. Use a password manager with randomly generated usernames when possible.
Dropshippers don’t advertise themselves as such.
Yeah and like anything getting big, here we are, Discord trying to go public and fuck everything over. The cow is fat enough to be milked then butchered until it’s nothing but bones and scraps.
It’s so long ago that my memory might fail me. Skype didn’t need a hosted server and that made it accessible.
Wasn’t Skype the best audio/video protocol at the time? Everything else around it was terrible, but I remember that skype was the only voice call software that worked well for me on shitty connection back in the day.
I split my docker containers so that I can selectively backup what I want easily on proxmox
For example, I am currently running an Abiotic Factor server that I don’t care to backup. So I just dont add the container to the backups and I am done.
If the company doesn’t pay me for a certification they want me to have, I will choose whatever certification/training to meet my requirements. If the cert is something I am interested, cool beans, otherwise the company can pound sand.
Proxmox is a great starting point for self hosting. You don’t need advanced features to start, and you can easily create VMs and containers.
Then you are obtuse on purpose because the PR removed the part where they explicitly say they won’t sell your data.
Have you looked through the proposed PR linked in this post?
It doesn’t matter that Mozilla has backtracked after the backlash. It matters that they’ve shown us where they want to go, and its not good. They will try to push the change again until it works.
I try to do that as much as possible, but comes a point where you can’t push back the task in the next sprint.
Whenever I can, my code isn’t ready yet, it needs a few tweaks until the code is viable. That way, if I can never touch the code again, it has a chance to not be terrible in the future
It’s a rarity because the nano second a prototype works, it never gets touched again because management only heard it works and don’t give dev more times to make it proper.
So imagine management deciding to ask devs to go back and clean-up a codebase, pure fantasy.
My kids are still young, so it might change, but I hope they stay with with me forever.
I love them so much and I will be sad when they will leave home.
I am so fucking tired of PR speak. This is removed now so that they can sell your data later. That and the ToS change is the canary in the coalmine.
“We akchually don’t sell your data because it isn’t the legal definition everywhere”. Fuck you
Friendlyjordies house getting fire bombed for going after politician would tell me that Australia is fucked.
The IT paradox :
You are right that vaccines worked so well because mostly everyone had them, and mostly everyone has to take them for them to work.
Village idiots got a support system and crossed the threshold where the herd immunity has diminished enough for outbreaks in communities.
I will wait to buy it a few years after release. Not getting burned this time around.
I much prefer using the terminal than the GUI if I can.
But I understand that not everyone likes the terminal.
To be fair, I couldn’t tell you how to run my file manager as root from the GUI because I don’t use it that much.
