I think that the great filter/fermi paradox is a combination of two facts,

1. Our entire radio output (the only example we have to go by) is pitiful compared to the sun, like a candle in front of a flood light, you’ll only be able to see it so far before it’s completely drowned out. After a few dozen light years our radio output is less than the margin of error of a stars detectable radio output.
2. As a civilization advances it must reduce radio leakage. As data gets more important, it gets more important that you’re not wasting energy moving it around. Narrow beamed radio transmission becomes the norm and even less radio signals escape the system than when radio was messy and overpowered.

They’re not missing or gone, they’ve just moved beyond messy radio signals. Even we tightened up our radio emissions in a little over a century. Most of what we watch or listen to comes to us via fiber, cable, or short range transmissions like cell phone towers and Wi-Fi.

I don’t.
I don’t have kids, I work 40hrs a week, I don’t buy little things I want because there’s a few “big” things I want that’ll I’ll need about $800 for.
I make it almost paycheck to paycheck and it will take me at least 6 months to save $800 if I buy nothing else.

Imagine what they could have done with an actual union to organize and coordinate their efforts.

Not likely, considering the last few times it happened it didn’t. This is the first time it’s happened since the 1980s, not the first time it’s happened.

After a half decade of delays and several major issues, including it spinning out of control in space on it’s first test flight, and all the issues with literally anything else Boeing touches, I can’t see how they talked them into getting in it in the first place.
I’m pretty sure it hasn’t had a single fully successfully test flight yet so I’m surprised even NASA allowed it.

Low risk ≠ No risk

Catholicism, people still give a percentage of their paychecks to an autocrat of a foreign city state so he can tell them what God wants. You’d figure after 1,400 years people would figure out they were getting scammed.
That’s not too say protestant churches aren’t guilty of the same things, they just haven’t been at it as long.

My work closes the last two weeks of the year for the holidays and we get paid during our time off (If You’re not in a union, get one) and a lot of us save up some vacation and take an extra week on top, so December counts as Sloth Month for me.

So Russia will get a break to regroup and in exchange Ukraine is expected to pull out of contested areas so Russia can get a running start on the rest of Ukraine when the truce falls apart?

They’re so mentally fragile and easy to manipulate that I feel like Fauci could “warn” against drinking pasteurized milk and getting vaccinated and the problem would solve itself.
The only issue is there’s plenty of people on the left that wouldn’t be able to see what was actually going on and that the left was having a collective “Shhh! ;)” moment and take him seriously and think he lost his mind.
