I recommend giving it another try if your only experience was the game on release. It really received a labour of love and has very fun gameplay options. I went for a throwing knife slow mo grenade build and had a blast throughout the whole playthrough

Personally I don’t think it’s wise to abandon Godot for a fork that will always lag behind and also just seems like a crude protest in retaliation. I think using Godot is fine as it is and unfortunately a con to the engine is we have to deal with silly politics from them being unfortunately in control of the Godot loudspeaker. I had to leave their discord because of the circlejerk they have going on was unbearable.

I wish we could just have a professional space.

Is this true? Because he didn’t deal with selling his paintings, that was his brother Theo’s job (an art dealer). The arrangement they had was Theo would finance Vincents art life while Vincent would send him all his art. They were both very happy to do this arrangement and frequently wrote to eachother often. There are issues with some games for sure. You’ll tab in/out at the wrong times (usually loading screens) and this guarantees Wayland will crash and restart the session. But at least it gracefully dies and comes back, never had it freeze on me.

EDIT: Playing MGS5 rn and the game froze when I tabbed, locked the entire system. Can’t even switch to a new tty so I’m forced to reboot.

You could try dark souls 3 for the closest to eldenring experience while being 60fps. Then go onto eldenring or dark souls remastered. Dark souls 2 is a black sheep that plays and feels different to the rest and has all around wild design choices.

Fallen order has this magnetic attraction between you and the enemy when swinging that really urked me. Felt likes souls on rails. Beautiful game though and nice levels
