I honestly don’t like answering these because I haven’t been put off by many people in public and the ones who do don’t need an instruction manual on how to be disarming.

We have a lot of serial killers. Not saying the whistling shit is connected but idk it might fucking be. 😭 I would sprint.

New England. When I was looking at houses I went in a few of these as that’s basically a lot of the market here, and most of them had at least one set of stairs I found myself uncomfortable on. Mine aren’t too bad, just narrow and short, but I’m short so it doesn’t bother me really. The attic is the weird one because it’s this set of spiral wooden stairs that leads into a really nice, large, fully finished attic. It could absolutely be another useful space…except…the stairs start out in a bedroom closet.

This is all so relatable lol… Oh well, have a spooky house with lots of quirks, so can’t really complain.

My house is over 100 years old and all the damn stairs are different.

Couldn’t we put them somewhere nicer like sdv? Doom feels mean.

Personally not how I’d spend my energy. If someone’s bothering me I block.

Talk to someone smart about money about this 40k windfall of responsibility, suddenly have 10k in the yolo account.
Well, my first thought was also “I need to try it” so they are not alone

I’m in a blue state, so not very. But I work in an interesting environment where people hold a lot of conspiratorial and junk-science views (recently there was a rumor about an upcoming seven-second loss of gravity.) I navigate it with shutting down any sense that I would ever humor it. I don’t maintain any sort of connection beyond general courtesy otherwise. Worst case was “we have to agree on reality to discuss it” and that was that.
In the long run, yeah, it does save a lot of money to prepare your own meals and coffee, even now. But the people who yap like toast and coffee are the sole reason things are unaffordable truly suck and are completely detached from reality.

Even in more progressive areas boys are socialized differently. I’ve been in a field where I see early childhood until middle school for years now. And girls, from the beginning, and raised more strictly. They have more care in their clothes, their meals, and the skills they are taught. They rarely fight, and if they do, it’s not on impulse. My theory on why people often say “boys are easier” is because they absolutely neglect them. So the onus is on 3rd parties to often teach them basic skills and rule following, to control their impulses, etc. Even in K-5, boys are the ones who are telling their teachers to fuck off, leaving the buildings without permission, fighting, etc. Parents blame the teacher/staff, if they are present at all, and antisocial behavior gets rewarded again and again.

Some are obviously irritated at my presence. Like, sorry for existing. I’m just your supervisor, so I have to teach you shit for you to grow and make more money.

Yes ….but your coworkers will probably come to you and ask you about things like fax machines. 🥲
A lot of good advice in this thread for some very thoughtful people. OP I want you to practice setting some boundaries with this guy even if you like him and continue seeing him.
Tell him no about things sometimes. Like “no, I can buy that myself”. Make sure he respects your wishes about minor things and has even, level-headed emotionally mature reactions to your boundaries.

Yeah true, but I guess this article is about sexually active individuals.

I like that they talked about the difference in how it feels as well. Solo stuff is maintenance and it can get the job done effectively and reliably. It is obviously not as gratifying. I guess this should be obvious but…who wouldn’t want reliable orgasms with a caring partner? Anyway, it’s good to have the data on the books.

Even reading it made my toes curl a little, haha.
I should say comfy clothes, so that when the dessert stomach expands I don’t experience any guilt.
