  • For rain and stuff in the Netherlands (we have some rain) you can get a rain suit I causing pants you can just wear over your normal clothes to work.

Make sure the rain suit has reflector strips or patches… your lighting and reflectors are key in Beiing seen.

Depending on the commute distance getting an Ebike helps keep your speed up without becoming massively sweaty. You can still exercise but you do it at a steady 25kph.

For groceries you can get cargo bags for on the back of the bike. Depending on the type you get they can store a lot.

Listening to music… put in one earbud only and have the volume low. But in the Netherlands we have mostly separate bike infra (protected bikebanes and such) so this might still be dangerous if there is no good bike infra.

Lastly, you can choose other routes that would normally not work by car. If you find a cut through somewhere, you maybe can avoid the dangerous stroads all together.

  • I’d argue it is not really left wing. Or maybe not JUST left wing. Sure these people have some left ideas, but that is not all, and for sure is not the most important.

This is what the word “Tankie” refers to.

They (tankjes) go out of their way to argue for totalitarian governments and dictators. As it it is some kind of fetish.

They deny the wrong doing of countries like Iran, china, Russia and other totalitarian states as if all the wrongdoing by these countries actually are not real and just some big plot by the evil western propaganda machine.

They deny tainnamen square massacre, maidan is a cia coup, Iran is actually not that bad… the list is endless.

They are worshippers at the altar of totalitarianism, the trump supporters but then for people like Putin, khameini, xi. Tankjes cheer on countries like north Korea while it starves it’s citizens, deflect human rights issues in Iran with whatabout … Saudirabia, muricah, etc… Tankjes believe Hamas are fighters for the people, chant “from the river to the sea” while with the same breath saying it is all the wests own fault, Jews caused it all themselves… You know, the abusers credo… “Look what you made me do”.

Please don’t construe any of my above remarks as saying “west good, west blameless”.

But that is my opinion. Left wing is not a feature of what is going on on these instances. It is just noise between the vitriol.

My advice, block Hexbear, lemmy.ml and lemmygrad.ml on instance level. And if you come across one of their loons arguing the above point, block the user and move on. Nothing of value is gained by engaging these Trolls that spread misery across the internet.

  • In the article

    1. Price parity obligation clauses: We say that Valve Corporation imposes price parity clauses that restrict and prevent game developers from offering better prices on PC-games on rival platforms, limiting consumer choice and harming competition.

This seems to be common practice, but is anti competitive. If another platform would charge 20 instead of 30 pct and the publisher would give half this discount to the customers this would be against these clauses. Good that these are looked at.

    1. Tying: We say that the restrictions Valve Corporation imposes, that mean the add-on content for games must also be purchased from Steam, restricts competition in the market.

And vice versa, steam dlc does not work with games on epic. Interesting case here too.

    1. Excessive pricing: We argue that Valve Corporation has imposed an excessive commission, of up to 30%, charged to publishers, that resulted in inflated prices on its Steam platform.

The 30% market standard seems to be under fire across the board, so if there is a solid case to be made that this is excessive, I’m glad the watchdog is trying to make it.

In all good that this is investigated, cause just paying for another yaght or house for Gabe is not nessecary.
