The issue isn’t whether or not they ended up getting it, the issue is that the government will forcibly end strikes that are too dangerous to the economy. Yknow, the entire point of strikes.
Luckily, it worked out this time. What needs to happen is the removal of the government’s power to end rail strikes in the first place.
The US has intervened in strikes since the concept was first conceived. The difference is they used to, quite literally, beat, arrest, and kill striking workers.
Biden advocated for the striking workers and made gains that they were thrilled about. If you can’t see the difference I don’t know what to tell you. And I say this as somebody who was thrilled to see Biden drop out
Ok but it doesn’t exist and didn’t when it was happening. He’s also the president, not in Congress. So why that’s laid at his feet when he did the right thing is hard for me to square.
I’d also like to point out that we are a long way from “Biden fucked over railroad workers” and are now going “Biden didn’t legislate this problem away.” Even if you dismiss everything I wrote above the argument that he didn’t help them reads hollow to me.
I never said I hated or blamed Biden for it. Ive infact said the literal opposite, that were incredibly lucky he was in office when it happened. You’re pulling shit out of your ass and putting words in my mouth, which I don’t appreciate.
My entire point this whole time is the power to do this shouldn’t exist. Don’t twist my words.
Like I said, “literally the same as hitler because he intervened to prevent supply chain chaos right before it would have done nothing for rail workers but get everyone unimaginably upset with them.”

Yes, we were lucky that Biden was actually advocating for them. That’s what the lucky comment was about.
What happens if the next time is under a GOP government? The power to do this shouldn’t exist in the first place.
It’s not an explicit power it’s just exercised. His non-intervention wouldn’t have stopped the GQP.
You’re missing the point entirely. We need legislation thay explicitly forbids it.

I hate “lol” replies, but I’m on the floor at the mental image of this
Hey man let’s ease off the gas a bit. The intensity of that reaction was totally unwarranted.
I am responding to the often repeated assertion. It’s fair to say that doesn’t apply to you, so mea culpa. You don’t need to explode over this.
Frankly, it isn’t unwarranted. I don’t appreciate people putting words in my mouth and building a strawman off of it.
