I focus on multiplayer games, which means I need to find other people online to play with. Lets see who in the Lemmy community we can play with!

Please list off games you’re willing to play with others, and if necessary, your rough skill level (if appropriate to your game). Hopefully we can find some partners worth playing with.

  • Go – I reached 7kyu last year on CGoban, but my studies have stalled out as other games entered my radar. I’m more than willing to teach absolute beginners in study games, but I’m certainly no expert! I’m probably closer to 10kyu (or worse) due to the lack of practice, but 7kyu was my best rating.

  • Puyo Puyo Tetris – I consider myself advanced level in Puyo Puyo, certainly to American standards (though I probably am just intermediate to the Japanese). I can comfortably chain 10+ combos on the Puyo Puyo side while beginning to understand screenwatching + harassment patterns. I’ve got the basics of purposeful cutting though consistent fusions remain outside my skill level. On the Tetris side I’ve mastered several openings (TKI, Double-triple Cannon, Albatross). I can c4w though its not my strong suit and I don’t do it competitively. 1-minute 40-line clear puts me closer to just strong-intermediate level, though I feel like my downstacking is stronger than most people at my rough speed. I’m a PS4 and PC player. Access to PPT1, PPT2, and Puyo Puyo Champions on both PS4 and PC.

  • Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition – 1000-ish advanced beginner player. I can boar lure, deer lure and other basic openings, but I can’t say I got much understanding beyond the basic build orders yet (MAA, Scout, and Archer openings). Just Arabia, I’m very bad at other maps.

  • Advance Wars Reboot Camp – Total Beginner to online play, though I play a lot of strategy games.

  • Factorio – Heh, I like the game but never have tried multiplayer. How does that even work? Figured I’d put this on here just in case people out there wanna play a multiplayer session or two. Unlike the other games, Factorio is cooperative, so different skill levels is fine, as long as we’re both enthusiastic? (Maybe? I dunno…)

I’m around 1 dan on OGS in Go if you ever want lessons too. I’m a bit rusty since I moved earlier this year and started a new job so I haven’t had the time to play, but it’s nice to see other Go players here.

      Congrats on reaching shodan!

“Playing to improve” really takes a lot of effort. I think reaching SDK myself has caused me to play for enjoyment more than improvement, lol. I don’t think there’s anything wrong in that. Shodan is a huge step in any case, it felt like I had to read and study so much just to reach 7k.

Thanks! That’s very understandable. The most important thing is definitely having fun, I agree. If you ever do want some advice the offer’s there anyway! Or if you want to just play for fun sometime I’d be happy to do that too. We could use some fun alternative types of handicaps if you’d like as well. Or if we get enough people we could set up a game of rengo as well. In any case, like I said I’m just happy to see others playing Go :)
