I hate brining up reddit on lemmy but you gotta admit reddit has some good Qol stuff you can’t get past. Searching was my main thing on reddit and was wondering how do you search or are there any advanced searching on lemmy? Right now I can only find communities.
Thanks
e: I’m using jeroba and it doesn’t have it. I’m aware the actually lemmy.world site has it
This has to be the first time I’ve seen someone praising reddit search, as opposed to a search engine.
Try changing the type to what you’re looking for. By default it will show all. Otherwise I’m not too sure what the issue is, if I search “brining up Reddit” this post is the result.
Actually i don’t use the offical or what not to search. i use rif and the search is built into the app. just site: url: etc… reddit search sucks but im looking for something specific
I’m pretty sure this is good in terms of advanced searching no? What exactly does reddit have more of in terms of searching?
mainly site: example site:i.imgur.com site:i.redd.it ( I don’t know what lemmy uses to host there pictures) But something of that nature. Also reddit now has where you can search comments. url:<url here> and it searches all the post with that url stuff like that
Thanks this helped. im using jeroba for android and i don’t see searching anywhere. all you can do is find communities
