I can’t figure if it’s a bug, design choice, user error, but it’s quite odd to keep scrolling down every time after returning from a thread.

Seems like a bug? It saves my place

    On Android 12 btw

My biggest issue with Jerboa has been that it lags while trying to scroll. Best UI experience I’ve been able to hack together so far has been browsing in Firefox, opening a new tab to look at a post, and then I can just hit back once I’m done. It closes the tab and I’m right where I left off

Probably just a design choice. It would be nice if it held your place for sure. I hadn’t noticed until I saw your post.

Same here, on Android 12. Painfull if one has browsed quite a long way down a community, clicked on a thread and then get returned back to the top of all the posts. Also for me threads sometimes change colour to be me marked as read, other times not.

Same thing happens to me. I’ve found using the back arrow rather than the android back button helps.

A suggestion I have for the app is swiping to go back, that’d be nice to have lol

You’re right. The arrow at the top seems to go back without the refresh. I would love being able to swipe to go back as well.

I think it’s a bug, I don’t have this problem. Using MIUI 14, not Android. I use the system gestures to go back though, not a back button.

I use MIUI 14 too, but I still have to scroll to the bottom again. (Also MIUI is still Android, just with some modifications by Xiaomi.)
