    Before the pentagon papers, Americans trusted their government. Today, we expect that it will lie to us and may not have the public’s best interest in mind. We consider the alternative naïve. The pentagon papers and Ellsberg’s brave leak changed us.

    He was able to live out his life and is generally regarded as a hero. It’s a shame we treated Snowden so differently.
