Same with DC. Practically everyone there wants statehood, the license plates have “no taxation without representation” as a protest even, but Congress kills it every time it comes up.
The reason they are not a state has to do entirely with racism. Hell, they were actively sterilizing Puerto Rican women up to the 70’s to try and stop them from having so many brown babies
The majority voted for statehood… but as long GOP controls congress, they dont have a chance because they’ll lost their advantage.
