    It was more common growing up in Minnesota for one of the neighbor kids to have a backyard rink. Though they weren’t really necessary, since we have plenty of dedicated rinks in parks already, and some parks even turn their baseball field into an ice rink.

      What a great idea for the baseball field. I grew up in the midwest and I can’t believe we didn’t think of any of this.

        The baseball fields are always real rough lol. They tend to be filled once in the middle of the season, and then maybe shoveled off after a big snow fall. You would bring your own shovel though if you planned on stopping lol.

        The parks generally had the nicer rinks, some even with a warning up area though those were much more rare.

        Worse case scenario, we’ve got a hockey rink like every 10 miles, you just find one with open/free skating or pay a few bucks haha.
