I mean, seems fair? It’s not like we haven’t seen large scale cyber operations carried out in the past, and not a single one has ever been deemed to rise to being an act of war.
Unless you’re killing power to hospitals or something, cyber effects seem to be fair play in the modern world stage.
You think Russias gonna declare war on NATO because they have some IT systems destroyed, or a bunch of records stolen or deleted or whatever? I really completely fail to imagine anything short of the “killing power to a hospital” example that would cause an escalation, and honestly, I’m not even sure that would.
Russia is happy to do it to other countries. Turnabout seems fair play to me. Especially since they’re doing it while actively committing genocide on a neighboring country.

The 2014 coup was orchestrated by the United States and brought a radical Nazi faction called the Banderites into power in Ukraine.
The Banderites spent the next 7 years conducting a genocidal campaign in the Donbass against ethnolinguistic Russians.
Over those 7 years the West sabotaged and undermined three separate peace agreements, known as Minsk one and two and Istanbul. These facts have even been documented in the western press. Look up Angela Merkel conceding that the only point of the Minsk agreements was to stall and rearm the Ukrainians, and look up how Boris Johnson sabotaged the Istanbul agreement.
Now that that history is out of the way we can talk about the present day. The Russians are completely dominant on the battlefield. The Ukrainian military is in an advanced stage of collapse. Despite this, the Ukrainians and Europeans are continuing to sabotage peace talks by making completely absurd demands (as the party that is LOSING BADLY). The reason this is happening is because the point of the war from the beginning was to weaken Russia. Unfortunately for them this might be the greatest backfire in human history. They are extremely unable to cope with this, hence the hysteria and nonsense.

Guaranteed the NATO countries, especially the US and UK, have been engaging in offensive cyber warfare against Russia for over a decade, at least.
If they are then that means one of two things 1. They suck at it or 2.Russia is scary good at blocking it.
The fact that china felt the need to isolate their people from the global net, yet russia didn’t makes me think nato just isn’t that good at aggressive cyber psyops.
The US literally invented the Internet. It controlled all of the technology for years. It codeveloped it with the military. Every single major tech company has deep ties to the US military. Many of US tech companies are actually spinoffs from military projects. And US tech dominated the global market. And the tech companies are installing backdoors at the behest of the military (Snowden leaks).
The embargos/sanctions against Russia likely creates tons of opportunity for Russia to develop alternative technologies so they are less dependent on US persistent threats, I mean product.
And yet they elected trump, and are clearly being manipulated by foreign agents. They may have invented it but it wouldn’t be the first time the creator failed to fully utilise their creation.
