A few viewpoints with minimal hiking

Shoshone Falls is known as the Niagara of the West and is a massive fall on the Snake River-if there is water. Low flow is diverted for hydropower generation, resulting in this bare rock exposure I witnessed which is still enjoyable as a ‘negative space’ of what the Snake River has carved over time.
There may be a trail that’s associated with it that I am unaware of; my only visit was at near dusk, when the viewing area closes for the night so I just went to a couple viewing platforms and then left… I or someone else should do a ‘8 Niagaras of the World’ as it’s such a common phrase for falls.

Should visit when it is running at full tilt. Also they do a night show during the runoff (IIRC).
A night show sounds awesome. Yeah, this was the only time I’ve personally been there but would love to see it when its actually flowing. Most of the times I’ve passed close by I’m headed towards Montana and get off of 84 at Mountain Home. This trip was when I was headed to Utah so I stayed on longer. I think I may come back west that route in the spring and will definitely swing by then if that’s the route I go. Good to know about a night show, will try to plan for that as well.
