How would I go with blocking/banning on my feed a user that is making multiple users on lots of communities, there’s this user cm0002 that keeps on popping up and noticing patterns especially in news stuff, and just content feels really off.
I am on voyager app on Android and been blocking them every time but they keep on making more and more and more accounts on other instances and always just incredibly suspicious.
Is there a way to block a username from any instance like block “cm0002@*” or something?
Been doing this for months ever sense I noticed this user/not and no matter what I do there’s always a new instance they join and start posting in new communities that usually about local news in the US.
Block the user and then export your settings in Lemmy settings. When you import these settings, you will have the blocks from your previous account.
edit: didn’t read the whole text, Lemmy itself does not provide a way to block users with a specific username. Summit android app does have a filter for usernames though.

apparently you’re not the first user that doesn’t like cm0002 lol https://sh.itjust.works/post/50158198
You are not the first person to complain about this particular user. I find it very amusing and kind of sad that this particular person has nothing better to do with their life than this.
Apologies though, I can’t help.
Unfortunately, you can’t, you have to block them per instance for now
Oh god yes. Then there’s this RSS not that keeps spamming new articles. Wish they’d stop trying to make Lemmy a big RSS feed.
In your Lemmy settings you can disable seeing the posts and comments from bots, it’s a checkbox called “Show Bot Accounts”
Some bots I like. I don’t want to turn off all bots just because some of them want to spam all the instances. Plus, I use Lemmy’s RSS feeds sometimes in an RSS reader which isn’t logged in, so that setting wouldn’t work for that use case anyway.
