Genuine question, so please don’t be mean to whoever responds. Better to learn than to judge.

Curious if people who are on Cloudflare are considering any selfhosted alternatives? If not, interested to hear what is a deal breaker in regards to using a service besides Cloudflare. I do hear a lot of praise for Cloudflare when facing DDOS, and always happy to learn more!

    Sure, I use them, for three good reasons.

    1. Cheapest domain registrations around.
    2. Cloudflare tunnel for free which allows me to reach my selfhosted stuff despite my ISP running CGNAT.
    3. I host several website using Pages for free, so now I don’t care about AI or endless bots hammering my limited bandwidth, or having malicious attacks on my equipment.

    Yes. I have a couple of domains hosted there and the free tunnel, proxy, WAF etc. are great.
