I’m new to the Lemmiverse so I’m just starting to learn the history among instances, but I don’t understand blocking Lemmy.ml as it’s the developer’s instance, which also hosts several other significant communities. Just curious why that instance is blocked because I didn’t find anything by searching. Thanks.

The mainstream consensus of lemmy.world and all the rest of the “normal” Lemmy instances is that the Democrats aren’t very good (for obvious reasons). I am extremely sure that I will be able to check the modlog and find that the actual issue was that the Democrats came up in some capacity, you were abusive towards other users or something similar, and then you were banned.
The .ml grouping of instances actually model this behavior, I think unintentionally: They are so flagrantly mean and hostile to anyone who ever doesn’t agree with their way of looking at things that it causes some kind of issue, and then they get to retreat to their cadre of like-minded people all agreeing that everyone is unfair all the time “for no reason.” MAGA people do the exact same thing. It’s one of the behaviors you can model in your follower-base if you want them to insulate themselves from people who otherwise might be able to talk sense into them, to make their beliefs more “sticky” and less subject to rational conversation that might enable them to see the “other” in some kind of rational terms instead of as some kind of wild and evil caricature.
I was confident enough about it that I typed most of that out before seeing your modlog. Then I checked.

Yeah sure the critique of the Democrats was the reason you got your comment removed… If you look up and down in this comment thread, you will see at least a dozen people saying what you said. None of them are deleted. Because they’re not being unhinged and hostile about it, their comments critiquing the Democrats are allowed to stay. Imagine that.
I realize that this factual critique will do nothing to sway you lol
I will defend that comment, I was pissed that Trans people were being blamed and the sharp rise of outright bigotry in neolib spaces. Also yeah her campaign sucked, Democrats learned nothing from this. She made no appeal to the left and tried to appeal to “centrist Republicans”, I predicted that would fail and it did fail. All of my predictions on the 2024 elections happened and exit polls confirmed all my suspicions. Yet pointing that out despite me explicitly voting for her made me the big scary leftist.
Sure. Like I say, the actual point is fine, and you’ll see it not being banned in any number of places in this comments section (and your whole thing about how they were deleting any criticism of Kamala before the election is absolute pure self-delusion). I do feel like having your comment deleted for calling all the other commenters shitlibs (or threatening to break someone’s skull or whatever else) shouldn’t be all that hard to understand, and it’s weird that you are insisting SO HARD that it must be because you said something bad about Kamala or that she was less than perfect.
You do understand that this whole post is saying something bad about Kamala, right? I feel like I’m taking crazy pills
