That’s it! Distract from inadequacy by hand waving away support for a genocide! That’s the ole Democratic playbook!

Has it occurred to you that the kind of politician that will sell out to AIPAC to support a genocide is also the kind of politician that will have sold out to a miriad of other special interests and failed to inspire voters in a myriad of other ways?

This is the triangulation curse that Bill Clinton brought to Democratic politics that is perpetuated by the Democratic consultancy complex. This a-la-carte tailoring of policies to give just enough to each group to make them feel special. That stopped working decades ago, and the Democrats still cling to it. We need leaders who know wrong from right and aren’t afraid to say so. We need leadership that can inspire a population that cares about something more than the bottom line. Democrats didn’t just fail to win elections, they destroyed the soul of this country. Then the demons moved in.

If the democrats cared about womens rights they would have run a better fucking campaign. They would have listened to their voting base instead of their fucking donors. If democrats keep appealing to the right one day your life will be a purity test too and unless you grow a goddamn spine they’re gonna keep doing it

If the voters cared about woman’s rights, they’d vote for democrats. It’s not on the party to play games. They put out their platform, they have a given reputation. People vote for what they want. Americans didn’t vote enough for democrats, so they don’t get that platform, they get the other one. It’s how it’s supposed to work.
Democrats listen to their donors so they keep having donors - that way they can continue to operate.

As much as it should be, this isn’t the main issue people base their vote on. So no, I’m not sure that would have won it for them. They may have gained some votes, but they also would have lost votes.

It isn’t that simple, as appealing as that might seem.

Why does everyone assume that this would have won the election for Democrats?

In fact, I keep being told that there weren’t enough protest non-voters to sway the election for Trump. Just completely contradictory.

Because genocide supporting centrists keep blaming the anti-genocide left for harris’ loss.

There’s absolutely way more simply apathetic non-voters who saw two candidates promising more austerity and genocide and said “shits fucked yo” and didn’t bother. You can call those people stupid but you’d be dumber for thinking that will get them to vote for your candidate.

If anything the uncommitted campaign was warning about that.

Maybe people don’t want to chose between shades of shit. Maybe people want to vote for something. Maybe Dems should realize that and stop being GOP light. Blaming the voters definitely wont win them elections.

Oh so we must’ve secretly just wanted Trump to win because…? Or maybe we just wanted Biden to stop funding a genocide?

Maybe there’s a lesson here for you to learn. Something about “electability”. When people say “I won’t vote for anyone who sponsors genocide” they aren’t bluffing.

Biden was pro-Israel, I don’t see him personally having the funds stopped since he believed whatever he was being told about them trying their best and using the funds and weapons for defense only. Harris was not pro-Israel, imo, but she was directed to be lock-step with Biden on the campaign trail and not piss off the pro-Israel PACs.

We know that Netanyahu and Biden were working on a peace deal. There were some reports that this peace deal was pushed back though due to Trump and Netanyahu talking. It’s possible that Israel saw the ability to push the deal back as a win-win. Israel was going to have to scale things back quite a lot under Harris.

From Netanyahu’s own perspective it was more advantageous to them if this was an issue for US voters, and they’ve more or less been given more power to do what they want. Also since Trump has not come down hard on how they did engagement. I believe this is why the peace deal did not happen before the election, despite it being pushed for. Plus they already knew Biden wasn’t going to play hardball with them.

There were lots of different parts at play in 2024 ultimately which made it quite a mess. Both political parties receiving notable donations from pro-Israel PACs definitely made the situation more complicated, especially when some of those PACs would run ads that heavily implied false claims about those candidates that weren’t avidly pro-Israel.

Only problem is none of them are running for anything.

We’ll see a couple them in the race in 2028 though.
