My ex was a vegetarian. We ate out at a restaurant that hadn’t updated their menu to reflect that a dish had meat added. She was “poisoned” by the high protein or something (I’m not a doctor and was only 19 at the time, so I couldn’t tell you what the doctors told us), but we had to take her to an ER because her stomach was destroying itself shortly after we ate.
Sounds like that would be more from an allergy rather than from not having eaten meat for a while. But I’m also not a doctor, I just have a lot of food allergies.
