i honestly think sarcasm is dead (and should die) in this international world we are in because it isn’t something that all cultures participate in and leads to exactly this sort of misunderstanding over and over.
I used to think (as someone who was quite sarcastic online) that if you needed the /s tag it just meant you weren’t very good at it, but when you are communicating with people who don’t have a background of experience with it you just look like an asshole!
