I have been carrying around my 3DS more often lately, and have noticed that around once or twice a month I will still get a StreetPass out in the wild, mostly when I’m in a big city. How’s the situation for everyone else? I am curious to see if anyone is able to get any more, or maybe this once or twice a month is more frequent than what other people are getting. The only exception to the one or two a month is at any convention, where I easily get around 10 or 15 in a single day.
While it’s been a while since I last brought my 3DS in public, I remember going to an anime convention in my city, two years ago and brought my 3DS with me. I got tons of StreetPasses from attending the con!
You’re kind of inspiring me to try carrying mine around again. I loved StreetPass - that element made the 3DS my favorite console. Just for the social aspect and the pure fun. I traveled a lot with it, had many friends that played with me, etc. Was such a cool console when I was a 10.
Haven’t had a Nintendo since but gosh that was so much fun.
The years of StreetPass (especially the games like MiiForce) were a wonderful time. It’s the Nintendo I miss most right now.
I still think they should’ve ditched the IR camera in the joycons and added Streetpass functions to them instead. Such a missed opportunity.
I’d rather have more battery. The switch dies far faster than the 3DS in my experience.
In my experience, even when new my 3DS XL died way faster in sleep mode compared to the Switch. I’ve had a Switch in a bag for nearly two days on sleep with some light gameplay and still have at least 50% of its battery. Meanwhile, the 3DS XL battery went down quick enough one of my first purchases was one of those USB charger cables so I could charge it anywhere. It lasts under a day on sleep with some light gameplay.
I don’t think putting a slightly bigger battery into one joycon would fix that…
Oh, I missed that part. Yeah, since the joycons are already very basic devices, that could make sense.
