I’m only middle age but now I wake up early just to be conscious of not being at work. It’s a better trade because you can dream without interruption.

I hear ya. I work two days / two nights and I thrive at night and zombie all day when possible. But the draw to have a day of awareness is enough for me to get off in the morning after 12 and stay up until late.

Similar. Up at 3a to get to work at 5:30. Done by 12:30p but my hours get rounded up to 8hrs/day.

      Bed by 8.

4 is pretty early but 10:40am is also just pretty late to wake up unless you’re like, a teenager or something (or work odd hours). A lot of the day is already gone by then.

IMO it’s nicest when you can keep your waking hours relatively close to the time the sun is up.

Go to bed at 2, wake up at 10, same sleep and wake duration as go to bed at 8, wake up at 4. “Day” as in daylight will be different, sure, but that’s about it. It is all relative.

And, you know, most businesses aren’t open at midnight. So you’re more limited in what you can do in a day.

Also, getting a decent amount of sunlight is important, and that’s harder to do when you’re sleeping through a lot of sunlight hours.
