Disclaimer: I’m not affiliated to the project.
Aside from the fact that it’s relatively new and unknown, does this hold a candle to other Firefox-based projects? They seem to be competent by their own comparison tables.
Has anyone got any first-hand experience?
- fun fact: Phoenix was the original name of the browser we now know as Firefox
- I’ve been using mullvad’s browser on my laptop. It’s basically tor without the network, and has the lowest bits of identifying information exposed via the EFF test I could find. Havent tried this out though - Yeah, it seems that they even acknowledge that Tor and Mullvad are better for extreme threat models. - "The only browsers that can provide sophisticated fingerprinting protection against advanced scripts are Tor Browser & Mullvad Browser. - If you have an extreme threat model (Ex. Political dissident, journalist, or if you are in some other kind of high risk situation), please use one of those browsers." - I suppose we’d have to commend them for being fair.
- I didn’t know Mullvad offered a free browser! Thanks for mentioning it.

- And their main repo is on codeberg ! I’m a bit tired to keep track of Arkenfox’s changes. Will give this a try and compare the default user.js see if it could fit my need.
- I have no experience with this project. I will check it out.
