My grandma’s Samsung J320 just bit the dust. So we need a replacement.

Her eyesight is pretty poor, so the screen doesn’t need to be anything special. Her hearing is even worse, so the speaker needs to not suck.

She’s a monster who treats her phones very roughly, and is prone to losing them. So the thing needs to be on the cheaper side of things so we don’t feel too sad when it inevitably gets destroyed or lost.

I know about those special “old people phones” with beefed up speakers and hearing aid integrations and custom UIs and whatnots, but they’re unfortunately out of the question because none of them are available where we live and import fees are brutal.

It’s probably best sticking to samsung, if she’s already familiar with it. I don’t know which models are sold in your country, but something from “A” series is probably most appropriate. Like A23 for an example.

Also maybe buy a big chunky phone case and figure out some sort of gps tracking in case of losing the phone>

If you dont mind “chinese” made phones, then I would recommend a used poco f1 change battery (optional if you fancy doing so: unlocking bootloader and changing to custom rom)

its shell is made of plastic so she can rough it as she like (not sure with the screen tho since it is glass)

Or if you want something somewhat recent, poco m4 5g, same reason, shell made of plastic

If you really want to broaden your options, theres this link where i sorted devices with plastic body
