Instead of open core I’ll call this popular approach “open skin”.

I’ve been awake for a while and have been forced to watch the slow move towards it over the decades.
Good thing there’s always nature to take your mind off the topic of totally preventable tragedies caused by profit seeking and complacency.

1·3 years agoOf course it’s political. Politics aren’t just about things where there can be legitimate disagreement.
Acknowledging climate change is political. So is everything from basic public transport, better healthcare to if sexism and racism are even a thing.
It shouldn’t be. We also shouldn’t have a resurgence of actual fascists. But we do and it is.

Hey, Children. If you like somebody and they like you back, don’t worry about which gender you think you belong to.
People can love people no matter if they are the same gender or not.

You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK: Flossing your teeth is only uncomfortable when your gums are unhealthyEnglish
9·3 years agoI read that as “there isn’t good quality evidence” not as “flossing doesn’t work”.
If you have plaque on your teeth that doesn’t get removed it turns into tartar/calculus. If it’s between your teeth, over time that can lead to retreating gum and exposed dental necks. It’s of course also something promoting tooth decay.
Removing this plaque with a tooth brush can be difficult to impossible depending on how your teeth are laid out. Floss can be helpful to remove it.
Are you saying this isn’t true?
Didn’t perceive the AI enthusiasm as too bad. At least they also covered self hosted LLMs and don’t seem like they fell completely for that hype.
The crypto stuff is difficult to stomach though. More of an issue on their other podcasts though.
